Auto update does not work since 20. July

Since 20. July the automatic update does not work. Today I downloaded the 36.7 MB virus definition file and made a manual update, which worked fine. But when I click on the "start update" button afterwards I get the same messages again (but the internet connection works, otherwise I wouldnt be able to download the virus definition file manually). Disabling the Firewall did not help:

Hi, look here (for update core antivirus server feel stress more than the norm, because of this problem with the update, but it is better to wait a temporary problem or manual update).

What do you mean? I don't think it is a temporary problem, because it never works now. Do I have to make a manual update every day? This is quite tedious, because I have only a slow internet connection (50-100kb/s).

This command leads to the same result (the operation timed out), only after a much longer time (37').

Also the page recommended by Alex did not help.

I made a complete new download of software and VDF file and installation today, but it did not help.

So I fear I have to change my antivirus software.

Hi,
I see that you have Ad-Adware installed. This conflicts with AntiVir, since it uses Avira's engine. Also you have some remnants of Symantec. Remove them using Symantec removal tool. You can find it with google.

Ad-Aware (Lavasoft) I start only manually to scan for spyware. Symantec I have removed. No change.

When I try to access: http://personal.avira-update.com/update/idx/master.idx

I get the message:

Network Error (dns_server_failure)

Your request could not be processed because an error occurred contacting the DNS server.
The DNS server may be temporarily unavailable, or there could be a network problem.

Hi all, another reason for the lack of updates can update the file vbase007.vdf vers. 7.10.9.165 volume 4,6 megabytes (and therefore the update server can be overloaded).

Download speed updates will depend on the load the server updates, but you can always update manually. ;)

Cheered to soon. Today there is the same problem again. The avira server seems to be overloaded very often.

Go to the paid version of antivirus and perhaps this problem will not. ;)

E:\WINDOWS\system32\userinig.exe I understand this process in the system should not be as it may be a virus, respectively, to edit this entry.
